Junior Ticket – Target Group

This ticket is intended for participants at the beginning of their professional careers. It is aimed at trainees, apprentices, and employed junior professionals. Individuals with professional- or senior-level experience are not part of the intended target group for this ticket.

Junior Ticket – Regulations

The Junior Ticket can only be purchased using a personal ticket code.

The code will be issued upon request via email to events@typo3.com.

The request must:

• be sent by a direct supervisor, a member of the executive management (CEO), or a human resources representative, and
• confirm that the participant is employed as a trainee, apprentice, or junior professional.
  
  
  Without a valid code, purchasing a Junior Ticket is not possible.

Workshop: Integration with New Techniques in TYPO3 v14 with Wolfgang Wagner

In this workshop, you will learn how to integrate a website using a custom site package in TYPO3 v14. This workshop is aimed at both aspiring and experienced TYPO3 integrators. You should have previous experience with TYPO3 versions. TypoScript and Fluid templates should not be entirely new to you, but you want to enhance your knowledge of current methods and techniques. The workshop is limited to a maximum of 12 participants to ensure intensive and personalised support.

After the workshop, you will know how to set up TYPO3 v14 projects using current best practices and how to avoid common pitfalls.

I will be supported by Eric Harrer. As a certified TYPO3 Integrator and Developer, he is a valuable addition to the workshop and will assist you with technical questions.

You will learn which methods in v14 replace the old approaches and why the transition is worthwhile.

The following topics will be covered in detail:

• Creating a custom site package
• Site Sets
• TypoScript objects (CONFIG, PAGE, PAGEVIEW, etc.)
• Data Processors
• Fluid 5 and the new ViewHelpers
• New methods and other v14-specific updates for integrators

The focus is on the new techniques and methods of TYPO3 v14. The goal is to provide you with a fundamental understanding of these topics as a foundation for further development.

Requirements

To participate successfully, you should meet the following requirements:

• Bring your own laptop
• Software for file editing (PhpStorm, Visual Studio Code, or similar)
• Solid knowledge of HTML and CSS
• Basic experience with the command line (e.g. changing directories, editing files)
• TypoScript, Fluid, and related concepts should not be completely new to you

Important: Local installation required!

Please install the latest version of TYPO3 14 locally on your own computer (not on an external server!). In the past, we have repeatedly had problems with participants who wanted to work on a server. Without a working local development environment, you will not be able to participate effectively.

Important: Please use Composer for installation! The workshop will be based on this approach.

Important: Please test before the workshop whether your local TYPO3 installation also works when you are not connected to your company’s internal WiFi or network. We have experienced issues with this in the past.
